There is no universal solution to DPF problems. The appropriate measures depend on how clogged the filter is, how the motorhome is used, and the vehicle’s technical condition.
Our technicians always carry out a thorough assessment before recommending a solution.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that any DPF-related modifications are legal in the country where the vehicle is used.
System Basics
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is a filter in the exhaust system of diesel engines. Its purpose is to capture soot and particles formed during combustion, thereby reducing emissions.
When the motorhome is driven under the right conditions, these particles are removed through a process called regeneration, where the filter heats up and the soot is burned off. If regeneration is not carried out often enough — for example during short driving distances or frequent city driving — the filter can become clogged and cause operational problems.
Diesel particulate filters became a legal requirement for new diesel passenger cars first registered after 2008 in connection with the Euro 5 standard.
